Job Summary

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of civil engineering activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. You are also to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Design:

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for projects.
• Collaborate with other engineers to develop project plans and designs.
• Ensure compliance with Newmont work rules and regulations.

2. Project Management:

• Oversee the execution of projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate and manage project resources, including labour, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budget.

3. Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including subcontractors, architects, surveyors, and other engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project team members.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among different teams.

4. Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

5. Site Management:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day construction activities on-site.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with the lead engineer or site manager to develop and implement project schedules.

6. Quality Assurance:

• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets specified standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and address any issues that may affect project quality.

7. Project Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and site records.
• Prepare and submit required reports to management.

8. Material and Resource Management:

• Monitor and manage the use of materials and resources on-site.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.

9. Problem Resolution:

• Identify and address on-site issues promptly to prevent delays or disruptions.
• Collaborate with project teams to find effective solutions to challenges that may arise during construction.

Other Duties

• Performs any other allied duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Site Manager or his designate.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven 6-10 years’ experience as a Site Engineer in the construction or mining industry.
• Familiarity with construction management software.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess a Valid Driver’s License C and above with five (5) years’ experience in manual vehicle driving.
