Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. Project Brief:

• Network for Inclusive Economic Development (NIED) Cluster – The NIED Cluster is one of the clusters/core areas at GIZ Ghana. NIED focuses on the implementation of initiatives in the areas of training, job creation, and green economy transition.
• The cluster works to positively contribute to Ghana’s economic development through a targeted and yet participatory approach that addresses and removes obstacles to employment-intensive economic growth and boosts the required capacity levels in various sectors.
• Since its establishment in 2019, the NIED Cluster has undergone significant development, resulting notably in the establishment of a Finance, Logistics, and Procurement (FLP) service unit aimed at optimizing operational efficiencies and supporting organizational functions.
• To this end, the Cluster offers specialized services encompassing procurement of goods and services as well as payments, financial controlling and logistics.

Scope of Role:

• The Finance Specialist will be responsible for providing internal financial and administrative services to project staff in line with GIZ rules and regulations

Tasks:

• You will be processing travel expense claims with precision and managing travel payments for cluster staff and partners according to GIZ rules and regulations.
• You will be communicating effectively with staff and external partners and streamline our travel management processes.
• You will be ensuring strict compliance with company policies and maintain meticulous financial records.
• You will be leveraging financial software to enhance efficiency and safeguard the confidentiality of financial information.
• You will be managing check payments in line with GIZ cash management rules where online banking is not applicable.
• You will be preparing files and making all necessary documentation ready for internal control assignments.
• Your audit expertise will be invaluable in maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.

Qualification Required & Experience

• First level University Degree in BA/BSc Accounting, Finance, or similar area. A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, along with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of five (5) year’s work experience with a focus on audit, finance and administration.
• Good working experience in audit compliant filing and related digital filing systems.
• Good working knowledge of ICT tools (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS office).
• Strong command of the English language (both written and oral) is required.
• Proactive attitude towards personal growth and institutional changes.
• Good interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Rendering result-oriented performance.
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
