The Presbyterian Women's College of Education, Aburi is seeking to recruit Procurement Officer.

Job Summary

The Procurement Officer is the Head of the College's Procurement Unit. The Procurement Officer will perform duties relating to procurement of goods, services and works including:

• Being responsible for supervision of the procurement section of the college
• Preparing of procurement plans for goods, services and works for the college
• Assisting in ensuring adherence to procurement regulations as contained in the procurement act 2003, act and any other regulatory framework
• Formulating procurement plans and strategies assisting in the processing of tenders advertisements
• Preparing tender bids
• Supervising the maintenance and updating of proper database of suppliers, service providers and consultants
• Assisting in monitoring contracts to ensure conformance and compliance with contract terms
• Compiling procurement requests for user departments for action
• Any other function as may be assigned by the governing council or delegated by the principal

Qualification Required & Experience

• Hold a relevant first degree and a master's degree in procurement
• Have a professional qualification in the relevant field and be a member of a relevant professional body
• Have served as a Deputy Procurement Officer/Chief Procurement Assistant in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organiastion for at least 4 years
• Be able to complete at least one term of 4 years before attaining the compsulsory retirement age of 60

In addition, applicants must:

• Be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary
• Possess hands-on ability to work independently
• Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Be a good team player
• Possess strong I.T skills
• Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
