JOB ADVERTISEMENT: Project Facilitators (2 Positions)

Project Overview:

• The "My Rights, My Future" project, funded by the European Commission(EC), aims to combat child labour in the Volta and Oti regions of Ghana. This project seeks to strengthen the capacity of local institutions and communities to protect children’s rights, provide educational opportunities, and reduce the socio-economic factors driving child labour. The project is rooted in a rights-based approach, ensuring the welfare and protection of children in line with international standards.

Role Summary:

• We are searching for two motivated individuals, one in each district, to facilitate the implementation of project activities. These roles involve direct engagement with children, families, and various community stakeholders to promote children's rights and reduce child labour practices effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation and Coordination:

• Facilitate the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the assigned region.
• Develop detailed work plans and schedules in collaboration with the Project Management Team (PMT) and other team members.
• Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and training sessions aimed at preventing child labour and promoting children’s rights.
• Ensure that project activities are aligned with the project's objectives and expected outcomes.

2. Community Engagement and Capacity Building:

• Engage with community members to raise awareness about the dangers of child labour and the importance of education.
• Facilitate capacity-building sessions for local institutions, parents, and other community stakeholders to enhance their ability to protect children’s rights.
• Mobilize community resources and foster local ownership of project initiatives.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

• Monitor and document the progress of project activities, ensuring they meet the quality standards and timelines.
• Collect and analyze data related to project indicators, providing regular updates to the PMT.
• Prepare and submit detailed activity reports, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Support the evaluation of project impact, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

4. Safeguarding and Compliance:

• Uphold and promote ACRAD’s Child and Adult Safeguarding policies, ensuring all project activities adhere to these standards.
• Ensure that all interactions with children and vulnerable populations are conducted safely, ethically, and respectfully.
• Implement and monitor Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards across all project activities.
• Report any safeguarding concerns or incidents following ACRAD’s safeguarding protocols.

5. Collaboration and Networking:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and other key stakeholders.
• Represent ACRAD at relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences within and outside the region.
• Work closely with ACRAD Implementing Partners (IPs) to ensure coordination and integration of project activities.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Science, Education, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in project management or facilitation, preferably in child rights, social protection, or community development.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS), child protection issues, safeguarding practices, and PSEA standards.

Skills:

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Fluency in English and a working knowledge of local languages in the Volta and Oti regions is highly desirable.
