Job Vacancy For Head, BI & Analytics
Job Summary
• The successful candidate will join as the Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics in the Marketing Department. • (S)He will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for providing timely and in-depth reporting analytics for all respective stakeholders, facilitating critical business decision making and performance tracking of KPI’s.
• The selected applicant will also constantly find ways to automate and improve current processes, including all sources of commercial data and communication of these analytics through various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for the quality, structure and management of data and information within the business.
• Provide a comprehensive list of commercial analytics based on stakeholder requirements, from data mart downstream.
• Be the single source of commercial performance analytics across the organization, via management of the cubes, dashboards, OLAP and other internal customer-facing data visualizations.
• Function as the SPOC with technology to ensure that data is consistently flowing to the BI from Data warehouse, based on minimum of n-1 schedules, as per defined commercial requirements for business performance, and including new reporting requirement:
• Analyse user requirements and based on findings, design functional specifications, system architecture for BI front-end applications.
• Work with finance and RA, to ensure alignment between finance and commercial on reporting and analytics on performance, business cases and other requirements that may arise.
• Identify and establish both regular and ad hoc reporting needs of each function (Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience and MFS) as well as Performance & Planning functions.
• Provide timely and accurate data per agreed SLAs (usually n-1).
• Continuously collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.
• Support Customer Value Management through data flows, campaign creation and campaign analysis, using automated measures:
• Charged with constantly streamlining analytics/reports to avoid duplication and ensure optimum efficiency in delivering on reporting objectives. Improve streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.
• Finding solutions to automate various reports and analytics to key stakeholders, reducing and removing the need for manual reporting requirements. Additionally, find new channels to disperse daily performance analytics including dashboards, SMS, mobile app, etc.
• Provide predictive tools and tracking mechanisms for respective stakeholders to monitor performance and take timely business critical decisions.
• Initiate a culture of performance, understand patterns, anticipate potential deviations and opportunities, take immediate actions such as ad hoc/more detailed analysis when required.
Leadership
• Provide overall leadership, strategic and operational direction/support for the entire team.
• Ensuring the team is equipped with adequate and appropriate resources for the execution of the overall marketing Strategy.
• Takes active role in the skills development of members of the team.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A University degree in any field with emphasis on Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• A minimum of Five (5) to Seven (7) years of working experience within the Telecoms or FMCG with a minimum of Three (3) years’ management experience.
• Experience using analytics to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes.
• Good knowledge of Data Warehouse/BI complete lifecycle including business requirement gathering, ETL, data modelling, metadata, technical architecture, ergonomics, front-end design and end-user deployment.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of Relational Database Concept, Data Visualization, Descriptive Statistics and Probability Theory.
• Good understanding of Telecom business/commercial concepts.
• Good understanding of computer system characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
• Experience in connecting and applying complex technologies to business strategies. Ability to understand complex, technical subjects.
• Highly proficient in the use of BI tools/Data Technologies such as Tableau, Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services and Analysis Services (OLAP Cubes).
• Highly skilled in the use of SQL, R and Python for Data Science, being able to write complex queries that ultimately lead to improvements in business performance.
• Knowledge and experience in project management. Must have very strong skills in project Initiation (particularly in requirements gathering, understanding the level of detail required
• Experience in managing and growing multifaceted teams.
• Ability to clearly and concisely present analysis and recommend specific action(s) to be taken.
