Job Vacancy For M & E Specialist
Deutsche Gesellschaft fĂĽr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) - is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. Project Brief:
The new programme “Strengthening the Ghanaian pharmaceutical sector with a focus on local vaccine production” takes a holistic approach to promoting the pharmaceutical private sector with a special focus on vaccine production: (i) strengthening the coordination of relevant public and private sector actors and in particular the national regulatory authority, (ii) training of specialists for the private sector and science, (iii) promoting research and development, (iv) promoting the pharmaceutical private sector.
Scope of Role:
As an M&E Specialist, you support the Programme Manage Unit (PMU). You take responsibility for creating and implementing a monitoring and evaluation system for the given programme. You are responsible on an ongoing basis for collecting, preparing and providing all relevant data and support the programme in its strategic orientation and operational planning
Tasks:
• Creating and implementing a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system for the programme
• Providing input for reports to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the EU
• Supporting the information, communication and public relations work of the project by providing results data
• Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
• Supporting in the preparation of studies and expert reports
• Internal knowledge management
• Supporting project activities as required
• Where appropriate and reasonable, the position holder is willing to perform tasks outside the scope of the job description
Qualification Required & Experience
• BSc/MSc degree in economics, social sciences or natural sciences (or comparable)
• 5 years professional experience and relevant expertise in the areas of impact-oriented survey and monitoring
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
• Experience in international development cooperation, ideally in an African country (preferably sub-Saharan Africa)
• Highly analytical, structured way of thinking and strong knowledge of digital applications
• Commitment, team spirit, reliability, diplomatic skills, gender competence and intercultural understanding
• Business fluent in English, knowledge of French and German is an advantage
• Willingness to travel
