Title: Head of Department, Legal
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary: Serves as the company's primary legal advisor, ensuring compliance with national and international laws, particularly within the gold trade sector. Leads the legal function, ensuring compliance with gold trade regulations and national laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight of the Legal Department, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight of legal operations and external counsel.
• Provide expert legal advice on national laws, international gold trade regulations, and corporate governance, ensuring company-wide compliance.
• Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and management of all legal contracts and agreements.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, to protect the company's interests.

Qualification Required & Experience

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Master’s degree in International Trade Law, Corporate Governance, or a related field.
• Must be a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) with at least 10 years at the bar.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a senior role.
• Extensive experience in corporate law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and international trade, preferably within the gold or mining industry.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and litigation management.
• Understanding of national and international gold trade regulations.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a legal team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong ethical standards.
