Title: Head of Unit, Research & Innovation
Reports To: Director, Corporate Affairs

Job Summary: Responsible for generating data-driven insights on regulatory policies, technological advancements, and sustainability trends within the gold sector, and involves conducting policy impact assessments, industry intelligence gathering, and feasibility studies to support the organisation’s governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct policy impact assessments, providing data-driven recommendations for industry governance and gold trade regulations.
• Oversee research on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) trends, supporting responsible gold mining and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead feasibility studies on gold refining, local value addition, and supply chain optimisation.
• Explore emerging technologies in gold tracking, refining, and certification, recommending solutions for sector advancement.

Qualification Required & Experience

Skills and Qualification Requirements:

• Master’s degree preferred in Research & Development, Public Policy, Business Analytics, Sustainability Studies.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in research, policy analysis, or strategic intelligence, with at least 4 years in a senior role.
• Decision-making in policy evaluation, feasibility assessments, and industry governance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and industry experts.
• Advanced knowledge of research methodologies, policy analysis, and industry intelligence.
• Strong grasp of gold sector governance, trade regulations, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of synthesising complex industry data.
• Detail-oriented and methodical, ensuring high-quality research outputs.
