Title: Senior Officer, Research & Innovation
Reports To: Principal Officer, Research & Innovation

Job Summary: Supports in conducting policy research, industry analysis, and regulatory impact assessments to enhance the organisation’s governance framework and involves gathering data on regulatory changes, sustainability trends, and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support research initiatives by collecting and analysing data on gold sector governance, regulatory policies, and trade dynamics.
• Assist in preparing industry reports, policy briefs, and research papers, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
• Conduct policy impact assessments, evaluating changes in mining regulations, trade policies, and environmental frameworks.
• Monitor industry trends in gold refining, sustainability practices, and responsible sourcing, providing insights for decision-making.
• Maintain the organisation’s research database, ensuring up-to-date records on sector trends, policy developments, and market intelligence.
• Prepare presentations and briefing materials for executives and stakeholders, summarising key research findings.

Qualification Required & Experience

Skills and Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Mining Engineering, Research Methods, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in research, policy analysis, or industry intelligence within the extractives sector, regulatory environment, or academia.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of policy analysis, industry intelligence, and risk assessment frameworks.
• Proactive problem-solver, identifying gaps in policies and industry trends.
