Assistant Accountant Wanted For Employment By Energy Commission



The Energy Commission seeks results-oriented individuals for the above position.

Job Purpose:

The job holder will work under the supervision of the Head of Finance to ensure an efficient financial management of the Division.

Key Responsibilities:

. Ensure accurate accounting records and controls including processing of vouchers
. Write cheques and passing of requisite entries
. Process inputs into the accounting software using the Accpac Programme
. Prepare reconciliation statements to all ECs accounts and
. Follow up on any outstanding issues relating to the reconciliation
. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
. Assist in the collation and analysis of both revenue and expenditure returns and financial reports
. Provide feedback to Head of Finance for reporting to ensure cash controls
. Prepare daily and weekly cash forecasts to enable Management take appropriate decisions
. Make appropriate suggestions to the efficiency and effectiveness of job holder's work

Qualification Required Or Experience

HND in Accounting/ICAG Part II with at least 1 year post qualification experience

Competencies:

. Knowledge of public service administration and financial regulations
. High computer proficiency
. Good knowledge of the role of other regulators in the energy sector
. Ability to work with little or no supervision
. Team player and good interpersonal relations
. Have an ability to work long hours
. Self-motivated and proactive
. Good communication skills
