The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectency to the year 2019 and beyond.
Description Of Job
Purpose of the Job:-
Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to employ an experienced and self motivated individual as ICT Superintendent - Mine Technical Systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the technical application portfolio of the Ghana Operations (Tarkwa and Damang) within the Gold Fields Group ICT Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
. Work closely with technical disciplines to understand their business processes and ensure that ICT is align to the business per the ICT delivery model
. Coordinate all Technical application systems installations at each operational site
. Ensure that ICT projects within the Mining, Mineral Resources, Metallurgy and Engineering environments are executed on time and budget
. Ensure adherence to the ICT architecture, standards and policies within the technical discipline
. Identify relevant projects aimed at achieving the regional strategic goals; specify the business case (requirements); and provide recommendations i.e., a technical solution to successfully execute those projects
. Ensure continuous business improvement in accordance with customers requirements
. Provide support to the project office and manage small
. To medium sized Technical Systems projects from beginning to end
. Standardize policies, procedures and processes for managing Technical application projects in line with "the Gold Fields way" framework
. Support the sites to improve business processes and tools while optimizing integration with the Enterprise Architecture e.g., SAP and other systems so that the business processes and tools can easily repeated and used consistently
. Develop, test and maintain a crisis management system in order that the department is able to respond effectively to crises (big or small) that may emerge from time-to-time
. Manage service level agreements with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that the ICT requirements of the discipline are met at all times
Qualification Required Or Experience
Key Requirements:
. Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
. A related post-graduate qualification and/or professional qualification
. A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in the ICT environment
. 2 years proven track record at management level. Knowledgeable in Microsoft SQL and reporting services
. Sound business understanding of Mining/Engineering/Metallurgical/MRM systems
. Technical knowledge of ICT systems and Project Management experience
. Ability to listen and to grasp ideas very quickly
. Team orientation (ability to work in a team and manage global tasks)
. Approachable and excellent communicator with good understanding change management principles
. Ability to cope with diversity and survive in an environment of uncertainty
. Knowledge of mining and related industries
. Technical understanding of Integration of ICT systems
. Medical fitness for the position and environment
. A valid and current light duty vehicle license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
