Abosso Goldfields Ltd (AGL, a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited, is a world-class operation, consisting of large-scale open pit and CIL Metallurgical. The operation has a mining rate around 24 Mtpa and a processing rate of 4.4 Mtpa. The mine is situated in a tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana.

Job Summary

Purpose of Job:
Damang Gold Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and self motivated individual who will be responsible for the day to day management of the mill and treatment section (Mill tanks, elution, and water services) to ensure sustainable gold recovery at minimum cost. The incumbent will utilize available resources to identify and eliminate constraints in the gold CIL treatment value-chain as well as maintain high standards on security and SOX compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Ensure clear performance standards are set and maintained for the section in line with the Company's targets
•  Coordinate stable milling and CIL operation and optimal carbon management
•  Manage elution plans versus metal account
•  Implementation of required reagent standards as determined by the metallurgical technical team
•  Support compliance to the ICMI code in the treatment section of the plant as well as mintaining the highest standards in terms of safety (OHSAS 18001) and environmental (ISO 14001) management

Qualification Required & Experience

The appointee should have:

•  A tertiary qualification in chemical Metallurgy/Mineral Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution
•  At least ten (10) years relevant working experience at supervisory level
•  Good working knowledge of the ICMI code and implementation
•  Sound understanding of Metallurgical Research and Interpretation of data
•  Demonstrate supervisory and leadership skills
•  Ability to lead the personnel to work on the treatment section of the 1Mtpm CIL plant
•  Experience in implementing OHSAS 18001 as well as ISO 14001 management codes
•  Well-developed oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with people of diverse culture
•  Demonstrable knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
•  Medical fitness for the position and environment
•  A Valid Ghanaian driver's license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
