Job Summary
Purpose of Position:
Work with Clark Sustainable Resource Development's Planning Department to collect, process and analyze hydrographic survey data to produce harvesting plans and inventory assessments of submerged forests.
Brief Description of Responsibilities:
• Collection of field data using Multi-beam and Imaging sonar equipment
• Collection of various types of environmental monitoring data
• Processing various forms of hydrographic survey data
• Creation of maps and databases associated with hydrographic surveying
• Plan and participate in extended field assignments on the Volta Lake
• Creating and updating harvest plans and schedules
Qualification Required & Experience
Technical Skills/Background:
• A degree in Geomatic Engineering or Natural Resource Management
• 1-3 years working experience
• Experience using ArcGIS, experience with Autocad and Microsoft Access also considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the Ghanaian forest industry including forest inventory assessments and harvest scheduling
• Strong Excel skills
• Boating experience is an asset
• Extended trips will be required around Volta Lake by boat and vehicle
