Overall Responsibility:  
Responsible for all planning, organizing, and monitoring activities needed to assure company compliance with RSPO obligations;  assuring the safety of company employees and contractors working upon company property.

Specific Responsibilities:

•  The Safety officer will be responsible for assuring compliance with national and industry standards for all agriculture operations for the company. Compliance areas include the storage and use of pesticides and fertilizer, equipment operations, FIRE PREVENTION and tool usage. Will be responsible for developing and delivering training and for monitoring and reporting company results for safety.
•  The Safety officer will also proactively evaluate areas of operations that comprise a safety risk and make recommendations to management for reducing that risk.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  College degree in safety, general health, agriculture, or closely related fields.
•  Five years experience in industrial health and safety issues; direct experience in implementing safety programs within an agricultural setting.

Other Information:

•  Must speak English; Familiarity with language and local culture of the Volta region a plus
•  Experience in plantation fire management will be an added advantage
