Our client is an early stage nut processing company located in Tamale - Ghana. The company sources, processes and  markets nuts. Initially, the company will construct a processing plant and subsequently develop a value chain in the region. The company requires the services of experienced, self-driven individuals to appoint in the position of:- General Manager

Reporting to the Executive Board the successful candidate would responsible for the overall performance, control and management of the organization and be required to:

•  Oversee the construction of a major nut processing plant, in the initial stages
•  Formulate manufactoring and operational strategic plans generally overseeing their implementation to ensure maximum capacity utilisation of the manufactoring units towards achieving the group's strategy, growth and profit objectives
•  Formulate policies, programs and objectives affecting the schedule, quality and cost of manufactored products. Directing and and co-coordinating production according to quality and quantity specifications within cost objectives
•  Oversee planning and implementation of production plans including receiving sales forecasts, requisition for procurement of raw materials and manufactoring of products
•  Identify and adapt technological advances to meet the group's competitive objectives within the marketplace
•  Lead the implementation of new manufacturing initiatives, including strategic resource allocation and applying good manufactoring principles, organisation structure, leadership, sourcing and integration, production systems and techniques for improved effeiciencies and adherence to best practice
•  Provide strong leadership to the employees at the plants, ensuring high morale, team work and good employee relations, at all levels, including on the shop floor.
•  Ensure all divisions within the manufacturing area are properly staffed and co-ordinated to perform duties effectively
•  Promote the development of favourable employee relations to further the organisation's production of quality goods.
•  Oversee all operations and logistics of all the plants maintain financial discipline
•  Any other duties assigned by the Executive Board

Qualification Required & Experience

The Ideal Candidate must:

•  Have a good first degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration. A Masters Degree in Business Administration would be an advantage
•  Have a minimum of 10 years significant working experience which should be at a senior level in a manufacturing environment in Ghana
•  Be a self - starter with excellent leadership and people management skills
•  Be a good negotiator with strong networking skills
