Job vacancy for Senior Mine Planning Engineer: Long Term Planning

Major Responsibilities:

1. Acts for the Sectional Planning Engineer when he is on leave
2. Generate multiple iterations of long term mine designs and schedules of various mining methods to optimise resource extraction at Obuasi operation
3. Maintain the essential link between long-term mine plans and the short-term planning
4. Identifying opportunities that create value and develop strategic projects aimed at improving mine efficiency and flexibility
5. Develop underground Mine infrastructure design
6. Produce yearly budget designs for financial evaluation
7. Assist in proposing the Equipment requirements for a mining block to optimise productivity
8. Application of information/design from the other technical sections namely Geology, Geotechnical, and Ventilation for mine designs using best practices and procedures
9. Utilise proven and modern mine planning systems to achieve best practice integrated mine planning (ability to use mine planning software, e.g. Mine 2-4D (Mine RP or CAE) and EPS
10. Responsible for providing business plan information before deadlines or scheduled date

Qualification Required & Experience
. Graduate Diploma or BSc  - Mining Engineering
. Minimum Two (2) years experience in Mine Planning (Preferably Long Term Planning or Short Term Planning)
. Knowledge in the use of Mine Planning Software (Mine 24D/EPS, SURPAC or other 3-D Software)
. Knowledge in Mine Designs and Schedule
. Some experience in Underground Mining Operations

Additional Skills Required:

. Computer Literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project
