Job Vacancy For Procurement Officer At Kumasi Polytechnic



The Procurement Officer is the head of the Procurement Department. Staff in this grade will be required to show high qualities of sound judgement, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in their area of specialization. The Procurement Officer shall be responsible to the Rector in the management of the Procurement Department.

Duties:

•   Provides input for the formulation of procurement strategy.
•   Supervises the maintenance and updating of proper database of suppliers, service providers and consultants.
•   Assists in monitoring contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms.
•   Advises management on procurement related issues.
•   Prepares procurement plans for goods, works and services for the Polytechnic.
•   Prepares tender bids.
•   Any other duties that may be assigned by the Rector.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Master's degree in Procurement Management. A professional qualification in Procurement would be an added advantage.
•   A member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
•   Must have at least ten (10) years post qualification experience in senior management position in the field of procurement in a tertiary institution, industry or any relevant public service organisation or
•   Must have served as A Senior Assistant Procurement Officer for at least four (4) years in a tertiary institution.
•   Must be computer literate.
