EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly-qualified candidates in for the position below. All positions are based in Accra with periodic travel outside Accra. Interested candidates MUST be nationals from Ghana or possess a valid work authorization.

Reports to: Senior Program Officer

Scope of Position
The program officer is responsible for assisting the senior program officer in developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing health programs.  The program officer coordinates and provides ongoing technical assistance and program support for the family planning component of R3M.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

•   Provides input to training content and program design.
•   Responsible for local program training which includes training logistics
•   Organize trainee follow up.
•   Monitor quality improvement activities.
•   Conduct field visits to monitor the training activities and provide technical assistants.
•   Assists in the development of country strategies and work plans.
•   Develop and monitor the sub grants to recipients
•   Prepare progress, activity, and training reports.
•   Review quarterly progress, narrative, statistical, financial and training reports submitted by sub recipients.
•   Assist the data manager with data entry
•   Assumes other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BA Nursing or Diploma/Certificate in Public Health or Midwifery. MPH preferable
•   Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
•   Good writing skills
•   Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point);
•   bility to work under pressure.
•   ability to handle a variety of tasks and juggle priorities
•   Good judgment and initiative;
•   Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
•   Willingness to travel 30 percent of time.
