Job Vacancy For General Manager of Operations At State Housing Company Limited



The General Manager Operations will provide overall coordination and supervision of the estate as well as the planning and development departments.

Job Functions

•   Develops policies and plans for management of the Company’s properties in accordance with sound estate management principles and under the general direction of the Managing Director.
•   Directs programmes for valuation of the housing units as well as all other properties of the Company.
•   Ensures the proper maintenance of the properties.
•   Provides guidance and support to the regional offices in the estate management and marketing function.
•   Plans for provision of professional and technical support services to the project development division in project planning and feasibility analysis, project designs, tender and construction.
•   Develops plans for acquisition and effective management of the company’s land banks.
•   Plans for the conduct of research on guidance and support to the regional offices in the project planning functions.
•   Responsible for the general administration and supervision of staff of the estate and planning and development departments.
•   Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Managing Director.

Qualification Required & Experience

Educational qualification

•   M.Sc or MBA in Building Technology, Land economy, Architecture, Planning, Civil/Structural Engineering or Land Surveying PLUS membership of the relevant professional body.
•   A certificate in project planning and management from a recognised institution is desirable.
•   Must have had a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant working experience in estate development industry, six (6) of which should have been in senior management.

Special knowledge & skills

•   Must have broad knowledge of urban planning and Ghana’s housing industry, particularly Ghana’s land tenure system, legal aspects of land transfer, and basic knowledge of land
•   economies, financial aspects of housing and estate development, basic knowledge of marketing management. A high sense of responsibility and judgement, capacity to relate effectively with professionals in the building industry, and capacity to co-ordinate project teams.
•   Must be of sufficient maturity and seniority to be able to function as a member of a management team and advise Management.
