Job Vacancy For Social Accountability Expert At Cowater International
Cowater International Inc. (Cowater) is a Canadian management consulting firm providing leading-edge, innovative solutions to clients worldwide. For over 20 years, Cowater has worked in Ghana on a wide range of development projects and is now seeking experienced municipal governance specialists to provide capacity support to 12 metropolitan and municipal assemblies (MMAs) located throughout the Northern, Upper East/West and Brong Ahafo Regions of Ghana. Project staff will help build the capacity of MMAs to improve their performance in five important pubic financial management areas.
Social Accountability Expert
• Has helped organizations (preferably local government) undertake various community outreach activities;
• Has worked with MMAs or like levels of government to help enhance their transparency and access to public financial
information;
• Has developed performance indicator tools including Resident’s Satisfaction Surveys; and
• Has worked in a team environment using an iterative and advisory-based capacity development approach to transferring knowledge.
Key Qualifications and Experience
Cowater is looking for self-motivated, technically qualified professionals that have excellent interpersonal skills and
enjoy working in a learning environment. The successful candidates will have:
• Bachelor of Art’s Degree (Masters preferred) in Social Studies/Community Development or a related discipline;
• 5-10 years working experience with civil society engagement including some at the MMA level;
• Proactive and good interpersonal skills; and
• Excellent English speaking and writing ability.
This position is contingent upon a successful bid, and will require considerable in-country travel.
