Job Vacancy For Publishing Specialist At KenKhanya
KenKhanya, an exciting US and Ghana-based start-up social enterprise whose mission is to transform education in Africa by providing comprehensive educational content (text books, story books and other reading materials)that can be delivered through a series of innovative and technology mechanisms, thus removing physical and cultural barriers in knowledge dissemination is looking for a Contractor/Consultant Publishing Specialist for KenKhanya Ghana.
This is a contract position, which will last for three months with possible extension based on the needs of KenKhanya (KK) and the performance of the contractor. The Publishing Specialist will be responsible for interfacing and developing strong relationship with Publishers, Authors, Writers and other stakeholders in the Publishing industry in Ghana for KenKhanya’s program. The Publishing Specialist will partner with publishers, authors and writers to collect text books, story books, reading materials and other educational materials that could be used in KenKhanya program. S/he will also serve as a strong business advocate for KenKhanya program.
Desired Skills & Experience
We are looking for a professional who has strong relationships with Publishers in Ghana; understand the works of Publishers with a high degree of professional maturity, self-motivation and adaptability.
Qualification Required & Experience
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
• A achelor’s or degree in publishing, mass communications, journalism or education
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Ghana Publishing industry or familiar with the works of Publishers in Ghana
• Demonstrating familiarity with a comprehensive range of publication assignments
• Strong Background in presenting to large groups of people
• Experience contacting companies to discuss new business partnerships and initiatives
Technology and communication skills
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Suites (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and productivity/communication tools such as Skype and email.
• Structured and organized thinker with great verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent spoken English

• Pro-active with business minded-oriented attitude and demeanor
• Self-starter who takes initiative and doesn’t have to wait until being told to do things
• Passionate about getting things done on time without excuses
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good rapport
