Job Vacancy For Chief Finance Officer
A reputable and rapidly growing organization is seeking the services of a smart, confident, performance oriented and experienced professional to occupy the position of Chief Finance Officer.
Job Summary
• Financial Planning and Budgeting – Managing the budget process (training, directing, preparing and compiling) for the Institution (programs and projects), including the annual re-forecast exercise. Assisting in the preparation of the Institution’s Operating Plan (including budget and cash flow forecasts) and other strategic planning as well as the Institution’s Annual Progress Reports (including budget and cash flow variance analysis.
• Maintaining complete documentation of all financial transactions and audit trails, responsible for the budgeting process, forecast and financial planning, provision of financial management advice and other technical support to functional departments, preparing cash flow forecast and monitoring daily cash position.
• Ensuring monthly and timely analysis and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, production of fortnight, monthly and quarterly reports
• Supervising and managing the performance of the finance team for effective delivery, to put in place a system which ensures that all major risks are identified, analyzed, mitigated and monitored on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Works with the other Heads of Departments to ensure efficient functioning of administrative and financial processes and maintain adequate internal control.
• Manages procurement and inventory procedures.
• Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters
• Work with the Managing Director on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
• Participate in developing new business, specifically: assist the MD and COO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.
• Assess the benefits of all prospective contracts and advise the Executive Team on programmatic design and implementation matters.
• Provide the COO with an operating budget. Work with the COO to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements. This includes:
• Ensuring that all government regulations and requirements are disseminated to appropriate personnel
Qualification Required & Experience
• The custodian of this position should have a post-graduate level of qualification in Accounting, Finance or Financial Economics with full qualification in ACCA or ICAG.
• Must have at least 10 years working experience in corporate law practice, engage easily with clients, think analytically and provide solutions to a mix of business and legal problems.
• Candidate must manage the financial risks of the corporation as well as providing and interpreting financial information, monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends, formulating strategic and long-term business plans, researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance, analyzing competitors and market trends, producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines, arranging new sources of finance for the institutions debt facilities.
