Purpose of the Job:
Goldfields Ghana Limited is seeking to employ a Superintendent - Fleet Management Systems for its operations in Tarkwa. The successful candidate will serve as the main point of contact between the Fleet Management System, field operations and Mine Management. He/she will also serve as main line of contact between FMS Supplier/OEM and the mine. In addition, He/she will be responsible for the maintenance of the software and proper functioning of the system and will be required to update the input data and analyse output data, to ensure optimum capability for the benefit of the mine.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides an advisory service to the relevant stakeholders regarding the Fleet Management System so as to ensure an uninterrupted, safe work environment
• Develops a Fleet Management System strategy for Management based on an in depth knowledge of the software and overall functioning of the system
• Informs Management on tactical issues within the scope of the Fleet Management System that could impact on business and offers recommendations for solutions to address such situations
• Ensures company policies are adhered to and the Unit's vision, mission, values and strategies are implemented and complied with
• Liaises continuously with Planning, Production and Maintenance management on system usage and data handling
• Ensures system information such as road networks are updated regularly based on updated plans reflecting progression of production
• Performs various routine procedures e.g. runs status reports to ensure accuracy of records, verifies load and dump records, runs reports and requests from/for other departments, conducts weekly/monthly system maintenance tasks
• Monitors various aspects of the System e.g. radio traffic in real time, reporting system downloads to ensure proper run of processes and transfer of data. Takes corrective action when necessary
• Performs general System administrative tasks as well as system backups on a scheduled basis and ensures that background processes such as GPS and backups are running
• Analyze all radio communications and performance data on a regular basis, makes necessary adjustments/recommendations to suit the needs of the Operation
• Maintain a safe and environmental friendly working environment
• Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects

Qualification Required & Experience
• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or mining-related engineering programme
• A minimum of three years experience as Fleet Management Systems Engineering handling MMRS or FMS problems
• Previous experience as a Dispatcher and/or systems administrator on a large open pit mine with Dispatch Engineering/Hardware technician experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (English proficiency)
• Ability to cope with pressure and a high sense of reliability
• Stress tolerant and prepared to work extended hours
• Sound analytical and decision-making skills
• Must be assertive, goal oriented, self-starter with good organizational skills as well as the ability to pay attention to details
• A valid First Aid and Blasting Certificates
• Medical fitness for the position and environment
• A valid Ghanaian driver's license
