Job Vacancy For Mission Director’s Driver At USAID Ghana



The U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Ghanaian for the position of MISSION DIRECTOR’S CHAUFFEUR / Driver in the Front Office of USAID/Ghana. The primary purpose of the position is to operate a passenger vehicle to chauffeur the Mission Director. Incumbent serves as personal Chauffeur to the Mission Director.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Chauffeurs / Driver the Mission Director for appointments and social occasions throughout the city.
•   Chauffeurs / Driver  the Mission Director in-country to project sites within Ghana.
•   Undertakes various errands throughout the city i.e. delivers invitations, letters, etc., to diplomatic missions, government ministries, NGO/PVOs.
•   Performs first-line repairs as needed, e.g. changing tires, checking batteries, adding liquids.
•   Records daily mileage, gas consumption, repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
•   Performs any other duties that the Director may assign from time to time.
•   When the Director is out of the country, assists USAID offices with driving duties.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Education: Completion of Secondary School or Senior High School is required.
•   Prior Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of chauffeur experience including experience driving both within Accra, and up-country driving within Ghana.
•   Job Knowledge: Must be familiar with local and area traffic patterns. Must be able to perform first line maintenance/repairs.

Salary Range: GH¢ 9,481.00 – GH¢ 14,222.00 p.a. (depending on qualification and experience)
