Job Vacancy For Physical Education Teacher / Coordinator



Job Description

•   Plan, organize and deliver lessons consistent with the physical education curriculum for children and adults with special needs.
•   This includes organizing skill development and game sessions for children and adults with special needs.
•   There is a focus on participation, cooperation and skill acquisition that furthers motor and cognitive as well as physical skills.
•   Leadership and communication skills are also characteristic of a good physical education teacher.
•   They often must demonstrate skills so remaining in shape and modeling good health are also critical.

•   Teach cognitive concepts about motor skills and fitness
•   Observe and inform students of corrective measures necessary for skill and improvement
•   Instruct students on importance of regular amounts of appropriate physical activity now& throughout
•   Assess the skill level of students and provide differentiated instruction for various ability groupings
•   Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness
•   Explain and enforce safety rules governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of sports and exercise equipment
•   Maintain order among students
•   Document attendance, grades and other records
•   Confer with parents or guardians, teacher and administrators to report on students’ progress

Qualification Required and Experience

•   Diploma OR Bachelors in physical education or it equivalent.

Knowledge/Experience

•   Knowledge of best practice for Teaching and learning.
•   Up to date knowledge of current learning strategies.
•   Professional understanding of the educational needs of children.
•   Experience of managing a budget.
•   Evidence of continuous professional development.
•   Experience of coordinating / organizing fixtures.
•   Willingness to be involved extra-curricular activities.
