A national NGO which works to promote the prospects of older people in Ghana has vacancy for the position of Programme Officer on a renewable contract employment basis

Job Purpose

Develop and execute projects / programmes that will enhance the quality of life of older persons, and in accordance with agreed outcomes

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A degree in the social sciences from any recognized university and/or its equivalent relevant additional qualifications (s) in project-related fields
•   2 years relevant experience
•   Practical experience in working with the vulnerable and excluded in communities and possibly on ageing issues
•   Practical experience in development of fundable proposals
•   Computer literacy in at least MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet usage
•   Strong date and policy analysis skills
•   Willingness to travel outside Accra to implement, monitor and evaluate programmes in partner communities
•   Practical knowledge in the usage of PRA / PLA tools in research, project identification, monitoring and evaluation at the community level
•   Knowledge and experience in right-based approach to work, as well as in poverty, health and social protection issues
•   Possess networking, lobbying and advocacy skills and experience to the national level
•   Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
•   Good written and spoken English
•   Organisational skills nd ability to lead and work with a team
•   Strong report writing skills
