Job Vacancy For Corporate Communications Manager
A viable state - owned - Enterprise invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the above-mentioned vacancy in its Corporate Communications Section.
Job Function
Under the immediate supervision of the Director responsible for the Department the successful candidate will implement effective communication strategies and campaigns in support of the broad strategic objective of the organisation. The candidate will also manage corporate communication relations with the organisation's key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will also ensure that all the various functions / tasks are performed as indicated below:
Job Description
• Plan and manage the execution of all proactive and reactive corporate communications on all key business activities and issues across all locations of the organisation
• Co-ordinate non-media communication plans for cross-departmentals execution of major events, issues and initiatives
• Manage and maintain identified databases and communication materials and all corporate literature of the organisation such as corporate leaflets and brochures, letter heads, business cards, corporate gift items, etc.
• Research, write and supervise writing of news releases / articles for external publication.
• Monitor activities, events and issues in the environment that may affect the organisations's business and use this information to advise senior management on reactive and proactive strategies with regards to media issues
• Manage analytical evaluation of media coverage to measure progress against agreed indicators
• Manage efficiently the corporate brand in line with corporate strategy
• Build strong partnership and act as the key liaison with the media to support the organisations
• Design and prepare press summaries and in-house publications to ensure that all employees are aware of developments in the company and other news item of relevant importance
• Research, write, oversee writing, and negotiate business clearance for news release / articles for external publication
• Advise senior management on media and issues management, including the most sensitive and commercially confidential topics
• Manage business continuity and crisis communications
• Manage analytical evaluation of media coverage to measure progress against the media coverage indicators
• Manage and strengthen relationship with key corporate stakeholders to benefit the Organisation
• Run community relation activities that will facilitate positive relationship between the organsation and the key communities.
• Manage the corporate visual identity to ensure consistency at all levels - both internal and external
• Develop internal communication plat forms to ensure free flow of information top-down and bottom up
• Manage all protocol relation affairs of the Organisation including events, conferences, official travels outside of Ghana, etc.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Possess a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies Orin Social Sciences
• Have at least six (6) years post National Service Wroking experience in Public Relations / Journalism (Communications field)
• Be a member of the institute of Public Relations
Desirable
• Applicant with Post Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies or Masters in Mass Communication will be an added advantage
