Job Vacancy For Senior Nursing Officer At GIMPA



The successful candidate shall report to the Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate shall

•   Provide leadership for the nursing team in the clinic.
•   Organize and manage nursing care in the clinic, ensure that patients are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
•   Promote practice that is sensitive to the needs of patients/clients from multi-cultural backgrounds.
•   Supervise nurses and other staff in the ward/unit and assess their training needs to upgrade their skills
•   Investigate incident reports or patients care, safety and counsel staff accordingly.
•   Ensure maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment for patient care vvithin the clinic.
•   Ensure maintenance of inventory of specialized items and ensure items are available at ali times.
•   Ensure that the planning, delivery and evaluation of care programmes address the changing needs of patients in theclinic,
•   Ensure the availability of the right skill mix for the delivery of nursing care during every shift
•   Promote the rights of both patients and nurses in the clinic.
•   Protect confidential information concerning patients obtained in the course of professional practice and make
disclosures only with the patient's consent or when disclosures can be appropriately justified.
•   Carry out other delegated assignments by the Human Resource Manager and the Resident Doctor.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Registered General Nurse with diploma in nursing plus five (5) years' working expedience at the level of nursing officer and evidence of continuing professional development

OR

•   Registered General Nurse with degree in nursing and three (3) years' working experience at the level of nursing officer and evidence of continuing professional development.

Competencies:

•   Experience of ward/unit management
•   Knowledge and understanding of CMS policies and operation procedures
•   Knowledge of quality assurance issues
•   Understanding of audit processes
•   Knowledge of GHS Patient Charter
•   Good writing and verbal communication skills
•   Supervisory skills
•   Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
•   Excellent problem-solving skills
•   Must be computer literate
