Established in 1997, Tropo Farms Ltd is a major fish farming company in Ghana and operates in the Volta Basin.

Scope of Work

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) position is a middle management position and the incumbent is expected to be a true relationship officer, serving as a role model and a coach within the company and demonstrating ability to recognize and respond to employee issues, while delivering the desired work performance/results. The HRO must be proactive and assertive in carrying out his/her duties in the site. He/She shall report to the HRM.

•   Recruitment and selection for the site together with the HRM and the Production Manager.
•   Organization of Training and Induction workshops for new recruits.
•   Payroll data entries for site workers.
•   Preparation of contract and appointment letters.
•   Filing and update of personnel files.
•   Deals with staff welfare issues such as transport and accommodation
•   Time keeping and attendance register.
•   Assign job responsibilities to junior staff and provide supervision.
•   Assist in addressing labour issues.
•   Submission of weekly reports to HRM on major HR issues.
•   Support in developing and reviewing policies, standards and procedures

Qualification Required & Experience

To perform this role successfully, the incumbent must possess combination of the experience, education, and training listed below:

•   A first degree or relevant professional qualification in areas such as human resources management, psychology, sociology, administration or law.
•   At least 3 years of HR generalist experience.
•   Good command of MS Excel and MS Word, Power Point and other applications.
•   Knowledge in Tally software usage will be an added advantage.
•   Good communication skills with great attention to details.
•   Excellent working relations with employees and management.
