Job Vacancy For Information Systems Regional Specialist At International Justice Mission (IJM)



The primary role of the Information Systems (IS) Regional Specialist is to help maintain client workstations, networks, security and other computer related equipment which includes, purchasing, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, maintenance and generally keeping the office equipment functioning.  This position is based in IJM’s Ghana office in Accra, Ghana and will support all the offices in the region in partnership with the Regional Support team. This job will also require some travel to the offices in the region, as well as periodic training with the HQ team.  This position reports to the Director, Global Systems and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Technical

•   Maintain client workstations and any related equipment;
•   Monitor Helpdesk and manage cases within the region with proper handoffs to other IS Regional Specialists when appropriate;
•   Receive and handle helpdesk ticket escalation from local IS Specialists;
•   Manage appropriate escalations to HQ IS team;
•   Perform software updates on all computers;
•   Troubleshoot software and hardware problems on client workstations;
•   Monitor and manage network and virtualized server infrastructure within region; and
•   Ensure backup of all critical data and the ability to retrieve data when necessary.

Training

•   Monitor and help train compliance of IS global policies and standards;
•   Train staff on IT policies, software and other computer applications; and
•   Travel from time to time to HQ for training or perform Field Office site visits.

Logistical

•   Ability to work with and maintain good relationships with local vendors;
•   Maintain and contribute to IS documentation;
•   Maintain and track all regional IS assets;
•   Provide input to field offices in region regarding future budgets;
•   Provide timely, concisely written reports of all activities;
•   Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information; and
•   Monitor state of all IS equipment in region, proactively notifying FOD and HQ staff when equipment is nearing end of life.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Two years relevant work experience;
•   Bachelor’s Degree or beyond with formal training in Information Technology;
•   Excellent writing skills;
•   Self-motivated, articulate and able to manage multiple tasks;
•   Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software, Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server, and vmware ESXi virtualization software;
•   Knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst switches, and Cisco ASA Firewalls;
•   Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.  Ability to speak  local languages is a plus; and
•   Organized, meticulous attention to detail.
