ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (Subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operates the combines Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a workforce of over 1400. including contractors. It is a former NOSA 5 Star "Platinum" related mine, which has gained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) Certification and currently implementing OHSAS 18001 Safety Management System.

ROLE SUMMARY

To support the medical team in providing health services delivery,

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

•   Support Medical Emergency Response aspect of the Mine.
•   Support HIV/TB Programmes for the Mine.
•   Provide Medical Services for Employees, Contractors and Dependants;
1) Daily OPD Clinics
2) Medical Referral Services
3) In-Patient Services-Admission, Reviewing and Discharging of patients
4) Minor Surgical Procedures
•   Support Malaria Control Programme (Clinical Aspect)
•   Assist in Community Medical Out reach Programmes.
•   Manage the public health programmes of the Company.
•   Prepares reports on all referred cases.
•   Conduct out-patient clinics, including medical examinations for employees, their registered dependants and contractors' employees,
•   Keep in touch with professional colleagues in other hospitals and specialist medical facilities to ascertain the progress of treatment of patients (employees and (their dependants).

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc, Medical Science or Human Biology
•   MB ChB
•   A minimum of 5 years' practice and in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council.
•   Experience and additional qualification in Occupational Health or Equivalent.
•   Should have a sense of confidentiality and discretion
•   Ability to take decisions correctly and promptly.
•   Good communication and strong interpersonal/presentation skills
•   Must have knowledge in and should be able to interpret outputs from audiometric machines, X-Rays, ECG and spirometer.
•   Must possess a valid National driving licence.
