A reputable international financial institution in Accra is looking for the services of Accountant

Description

•   Responsible for safekeeping of all company assets including all invoice and expense authorisations, cheque books and petty cash vouchers
•   Responsible for keeping accurate accounting principles and IFRS
•   Responsible for all income tax, withholding tax, provision tax and PAYE tax submission being on time, accurate and safety kept
•   Responsible for all reporting to South Africa on a monthly basis including cash books, salaries, provisions and accruals, prepaid expenses, petty cashes and staff loans
•   Responsible for monitoring all finance officer duties at all branches and ensuring adequate controls are kept at all times within the branches and head office
•   Responsible for maintaining the head office petty cash float
•   Responsible for all relationships at the company's bank
•   Responsible for the downloading of bank statements on a daily basis to monitor for fraud and to ensure sufficient cash flows to run the business
•   Responsible for reconciling the bank accounts every week and providing the necessary information to the South African head office
•   Responsible for all other finance related matters which may arise relating to any of the above, and those arising due to the needs of our growing business

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelors Degree is essential (majoring in Accounting an advantage)
•   Professional Accounting qualification is an advantage
•   Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office and e-mail
•   Excellent knowledge i Pastel Version 11 accounting software is an added advantage
