The Position
The Assistant Technical Advisor; Health Services Delivery will support the effective promotion, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CHAG Health Service Delivery and Community Systems Strengthening interventions that contributes to improved health outcomes of member institutions in particular, and the country as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the development and implementation of relevant interventions in health services delivery
• Contribute to the implementation of Health System Strengthening (HSS) framework within the CHAG network
• Assist in the provision of direction and support for community systems strengthening within the CHAG network
• Assist in developing annual plans based on emerging network and sector issues and ensure an effective and smooth implementation of programmes within budget
• Support implementation of the CHAG Health Service Delivery and Community Systems Strengthening strategy portfolio of projects
• Support in the management of all aspect of projects cycle of Health Service Delivery and Community Systems Strengthening
Qualification Required & Experience
Academic/Professional
• Master's in Public Health, Health Economics, International Health or related disciplines
• Degree in Medicine and other related health fields
• Professional certificate/ post graduate certificate in Project Management
• At least five (5) years working experience in management of health service delivery at organisational, district, regional and national levels
Technical Competencies
• Understanding of the concept of policy development and planning of healthcare programmes
• Broad knowledge base of health sector policy and CHAG operating procedures
• Ability to evaluate, monitor and assess the impact of health policies and programmes
• Proficiency in project report writing
• Demonstrate research and computer skills
Managerial Competencies
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships
• Ability to facilitate and manage change
• Ability to make quick but rational decision and follow up on activities initiated effectively and promptly
• Ability to organise and implement programmes
