Job Vacancy For Mine Mapping Geologist At Perseus Mining Ghana Ltd (Ayanfuri)



Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana.

Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will report to the Mining Manager and Chief Geologist and will have the following responsibilities:

•   Defining detailed geology and ore domains through pit mapping, drill core logging and database reviews,
•   Assessing and monitoring grade control methods,
•   Liaising with mine geologists to ensure optimum mining of ore blocks,
•   Reconciling resource and grade control models to mill feed;
•   Mentoring junior geologists,
•   Some exposure to near mine exploration,

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree in geology
•   A minimum of 5 years' experience in mapping and open pit gold mine and / or exploration
•   A keen interest in geology and understanding of mineralisation controls.
•   Computer skills, proficiency with Surpac preferred,
•   Strong knowledge of structural geology.
•   Good mentoring skills.
