Job Purpose:
• To identify and address all Immigration related matters on behalf of TGL in collaboration with Internal and External Stakeholders.
• Immigration systems and data management champion
Responsibilities / Key Objectives:
• Ensure that the company’s immigration policies and procedures are applied accordingly.
• Initiate immigration related matters in accordance with all applicable immigration laws and policies.
• Deal with written and verbal queries from staff and contractors of Tullow regarding immigration.
• Maintain an accurate database of all expatriates immigration status
• Provide regular updates and reports to management.
• Provide accurate and timely immigration information and advice to staff and any other TGL personnel.
• Manage correspondence and maintain a database for all expatriate staff.
• Process work permits at the appropriate time to facilitate ease of travel.
• Compile and submit annual returns to the Ghana Immigration Service.
• Any other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the business.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education & Experience:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences/Equivalent. Specialization or a keen interest in Human Resources is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role with a multinational is preferred.
• A Legal background would be useful.
Technical Skills:
• Good knowledge of immigration laws in Ghana, ideally with some experience of international immigration laws/issues.
• Strong customer service orientation and experience of working in customer-focused business settings.
• Knowledge of local labour laws.
• Knowledge of HR administrative processes and office management systems.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate well verbally.
• Great written communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing learning & development.
Business Skills:
• Ability to handle confidential information at all times.
• Ability to think logically and a quick learner.
• Ability to take the initiative, prioritize and multitask.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
