A reputable licensed cocoa buying company is looking for a suitable person to fill the position of a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to enable it provide its farmers with the best services, better price and a share in its profits.

Job Summary

The company requires a self-motivated and career oriented Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join its team. The successful candidate will work in coordination with the Managing Director, Board of Directors (BoD) and all its stakeholders, to provide overall financial vision and leadership for the organization. He or She will exercise overall responsibility for financial planning, execution, controlling and reporting with respect to the company. The CFO will also provide financial advice on the operations of its group financial strategies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

•   Provide leadership and strategic direction for the finance function including supervision and development of finance team, business plan development and overall financial strategy.
•   Responsibility over capital and operating budget as well as budgetary control
•   Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities of the company and its group
•   Exercise responsibility over company's financial assets - investments, receivables, stocks and cash ensure these managed in the interest of the company.
•   Provide guidance on business financing options
•   Relate to company's partners on financial issues - bankers and other financiers, suppliers, buyers etc.
•   Ensure that effective internal controls are in place as well as ensure compliance with statutory and other regulatory requirements
•   Relate to statutory bodies and agencies in the delivery of financial responsibility

Qualification Required & Experience

Interested applicants must have the following qualifications and experience:

•   First degree in Business Administration (Accounting option) with minimum  of ten (10) years relevant post qualification experience. And or
•   A professional qualification in Accounting with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant post qualification experience. An additional Masters Degree in Accounting will be an advantage
•   Demonstrate knowledge in financial management and analysis
•   Considerable knowledge in computerized accounting
•   Knowledge in contract administration and interpretation
•   Ability to lead, develop and motivate team of financial professionals, determine their training needs and motivate them for high quality work
•   Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.
•   Effective communication skills (oral and written)
•   Ability to handle external working relations with farmers, partners and government
•   Ability to plan and meet goals within specified timelines
•   Should be honest, creative and maintain confidentiality at all times
•   Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgement
•   Age limit: Between 35 to 55 years
