A leading IT solutions and assurances services provider seeks to recruit individuals with the requisite professional competencies and experience to fill the following roles: Chief Technology Officer

Role purpose

Responsible for the development of multiple and complex software applications / solutions, IT infrastructure design, data centre management and provision of corporate IT training to deliver a robust and dynamic IT services to meet client needs / expectations and corporate revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

•   Provide technical expertise in the development and implementation of strategy/business plan for the Technology Department as input into the overall Corporate Strategy of the company.
•   Provide technical expertise in the design and development of architectural direction, software applications, IT infrastructure, etc. in line with approved standards and international best practices
•   Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
•   Provide leadership in research/studies into new software technologies, tools and methologies to create and deploy innovation to improve solution functionality in support of client business needs, delivery efficiencies and corporate revenue generation.
•   Lead and direct a team of expertise in the design, development and execution of effective and timely enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the company and its clients in line with approved regulations and standards.
•   Responsible for directing and managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications and other peripherals.
•   Oversight responsibility fo the monitoring of the Data Centre operations to ensure high level performance with excellent service availability, reliability and maintainability
•   Lead/direct the development and service provision of data management / reporting systems
•   Lead and provide technical guidance in the development of an integrated and comprehensive database/information system for managing the Company's service delivery activities for existing / prospective clients.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Master's degree or its equivalent professional qualification in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronic / Electrical Engineering or related field.
•   Must be a member of a recognised professional body in IT
•   Ten (10) years working experience with at least 5 years in management position.

Required Competencies

•   Strong technical knowledge and understanding of network and PC operating systems, including UNIX operating system
•   Extensive knowledge of designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications on at least two of the following operating systems: UNIX, MVS, Windows, Tandem
•   Extensive experience in applications with heavy RDBMS interaction
•   Demonstrated knowledge and experience of programming languages and methodologies
•   Excellent understanding of security standards
•   Strong technical knowledge and understanding of current network hardware, protocols and standards
•   Well-developed strategic orientation with competitive awareness and benchmarking
•   Must be abreast with IT trends / Developments
•   Strong leadership, managerial, mentoring, coaching and interpersonal skills in a team setting
•   Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
•   Excellent communication and presentation skills
