Tropo Farms Limited is the leading aquaculture company in Ghana. It is the 2nd largest in Africa producing fresh tilapia right from the Volta Lake in Ghana.

Job Summary

Due to the recent expansion and restructuring exercise with the aim of providing world class services to its customers, Tropo Farms is looking for qualified and experienced Human Resources Officers to support its operations.

Scope of Work:
The Human Resources Officer (HRO) position is a middle management position and the incumbent is expected to be a true relationship manager, serving as a role model and a coach within the company and demonstrating ability to recognize and respond to employee issues, while delivering the desired work performance/ results. The HRO must be proactive and assertive in carrying out his duties in the site. He/She shall report to the HRM.

Main Duties

•   Recruitment and selection for the site together with the HRM and the Production Manager.
•   Organization of Training and Induction workshops for new recruits.
•   Payroll data entries for site workers.
•   Preparation of contract and appointment letters.
•   Filing and update of personnel files.
•   Dealing with staff welfare issues such as transport and accommodations
•   Time keeping and attendance register.
•   Assign job responsibilities to junior staffs and provide supervision.
•   Assist in addressing labour issues.
•   Submission of weekly reports to HRM on major HR issues.
•   Support in developing and reviewing policies, standards and procedures

Qualification Required & Experience

To perform this role successfully, the incumbent must possess combination of the experience, education, and training listed below:

•   A first degree or relevant professional qualification in areas such as human resources management, psychology, sociology, administration or law.
•   At least 3 years of HR generalist experience.
•   Good command of MS Excel and MS Word, Power Point and other applications.
•   Knowledge in Tally software usage will be an added advantage.
•   Good communication skills with great attention to details.
•   Excellent working relations with employees and management.
