Job Vacancy For Director of Counselling Centre At University of Education (Winneba)



Successful applicant will perform the following responsibilities:

•   Develop long-range plans for the Centre in collaboration with staff of the Counselling Centre.
•   Provide mental health and psychological counselling to students and members of staff.
•   Coordinate preventive-related programmes and workshops.
•   Supervise, direct and evaluate counselling staff and programmes.
•   Oversee establishment and maintenance of counselling outreach programmes for students and staff.
•   Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and ethics.
•   Provide group and individual counselling and psychotherapy.
•   Link up with the Division of Human Resource in planning for staff training and orientation programmes.
•   administration; informing them about the Counselling Services, the referral process and obtaining input regarding student needs.
•   Coordinate referral of staff and students for psychiatric services.
•   Provide quarterly and annual reports related to Centre activities and concerns.

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidate seeking appointment as Director of Counselling Centre must have:

•   a Ph.D in Counselling or Clinical Psychology or a related field of study.
•   five (5) years post-doctoral work experience in a university counselling setting or a comparable organization.
•   ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public.
•   responsibility, providing direct frames and supervision as needed.
•   ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
