Description Of Job

Purpose of the Job:-
The Engineering Department is seeking to engage the services of a self motivated individual who is knowledgeable in electronics for the position of Engineering Technician - Electrical. The successful applicant will apply knowledge and experience to identify and repair faults on caterpillar generators, Cummins and Perkins engines. He/she will also liaise with other sections within the department to improve service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Execute daily routine work according to policies and procedures within prescribed guidelines with emphasis on quality and quantity of work output
•  Assist in the planning and implementation of an effective maintenance schedule
•  Assist the service team to carry out maintenance on generators and engines
•  Provide guidelines for stocking strategic maintenance parts for generators
•  Apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to the work situation
•  Ensure quick response to breakdowns using an effective communication process and delivery on maintenance issues
•  Undertake daily routine inspections, fault tracing and maintenance of equipment
•  Ensure proper maintenance practices and assist supervisor in eliminating wastage
•  Reduce accidents and incidents in the course of performing duties
•  Suggest ways to improve performance in order to meet set targets
•  Perform any other duties that may be assigned by superior

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements:

•  A tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognised institution
•  At least two (2) years experience in high voltage power and auto electrical works
•  Results-driven individual with ability to multi-task and prioritize
•  Excellent knowledge of standards, methods and procedures of the job
•  Well developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
•  Ability to work for long hours and with little supervision
•  Medical fitness for the position and environment
•  Valid Ghanaian driver's licence and proficiency in driving light vehicles
