A reputable Microfinance Company with branches across the country invites applications from suitable and qualified persons for the following position:- General Manager

Job Summary

•   Administer, monitor and control the day to day operations of the company. The GM will be expected to achieve business performance results through the Management team and to assist the Executive Director and the Board in policy formulation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•   To manage the day to day banking operations of the company
•   To be responsible for delivering budgeted results
•   To have a well-trained, disciplined and tightly controlled and managed Branch network capable of delivering high quality financial services nationally
•   To maintain excellent relationship with the Bank of Ghana ensuring that all reports are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.
•   To maintain constant touch with other companies and stakeholders to keep up our obligations with them at all times
•   To ensure that the Accounts department updates the inventory record on fixed assets every month
•   To ensure that reports for the Board sub-committee (Operations, Audit, Human Resource, Accounts) are sent every quarter and that meetings are held at least twice a year
•   To meet with Senior Management (Operations, Audit, Human Resource and Accounts) every Monday with emphasis on results and meeting targets
•   To facilitate senior management visits to branches on a regular basis in order to ensure that the company's standards are adhered to
•   To organize quarterly meetings with Branch Managers to assess peformance and set goals
•   To undertake/carry out any other duties and responsibilities with may be assigned you from time to time meet the objectives of the company

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Masters Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related area of study
•   Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in a bank or retail financial institution
•   Minimum entry qualification for job post is 1st degree

Required Skills and Competencies:

•   Experience in commercial strategic planning, budgeting, control, financial analysis and risk management
•   A track record of managing a financial institution in a competitive environment
•   Excellent negotiation, marketing and presentation skills
•   A working knowledge of financial software and spreadsheets
•   Knowledge in micro, small and medium enterprise market segments in Ghana or similar countries will be an advantage
•   Proficiency in use of Microsoft office suite

•   Demonstrate commitment to the social mission of a microfinance organization
•   Ability to innovative and develop programs to enhance the organizational status
•   Be proactive and human centered in resolving organizational conflicts
•   Ability to work under tight schedules meeting deadlines as may be required by stakeholders
•   Be gender sensitive in dealing with clients, many of whom may be women and vulnerable groups of people
