Job Summary

This is a position for an individual with high commercial acumen to work with Project Manager (s) and the Commercial Manager to deliver projects within schedule and to achieve and exceed profitability targets.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum education of a Bachelor's degree with relevant working experience of not less than five years with a Main Contractor.
•   Relevant professional qualification (e.g. GhlS/RICS/ MCIOB) would be an added advantage.

Essential requirements for the role:

•   Focused attention on preparation, submission and agreeing of monthly valuations to ensure maximised cash flow
•   Commercial awareness to ensure no opportunity is missed to identify, notify and value variations
•   Ability to apply basic principles of commercial management to construction projects.
•   Ability to implement procedures to quantify and cost construction works, including the use of appropriate standard methods of measurement.
•   Focused attention on cost control measures and preparation of monthly cost reports
•   Working knowledge of procurement management
•   Sound working knowledge of the various forms of Conditions of Contract
•   Strong contract administration skills
•   Detailed knowledge and understanding of tendering and requirement processes
•   Knowledge and understanding of sub-contract management principles, together with the ability to draft and administer sub-contracts
•   Knowledge of construction technology, techniques and processes principles, together with the ability to draft and administer sub-contracts
•   Strong administrative, numeracy and writing skills, IT literacy, competence in MS Office with proficiency in the use of MS Excel.
•   Working knowledge of construction works scheduling or programming
•   Awareness of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality issues.

•   Proven ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with little or no supervision.
•   Self-motivated, able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
•   Enthusiastic, focused, results-driven and excited about work
