Job Vacancy For Extensions Manager At Cocoa Abrabopa Association (CAA) – (Dunkwa-on-Offin)
Job Purpose
To supervise the Field Supervisors, Technical Officers of CAA, Extension Services, coordination of farmers’ activities, credit recoveries and community relationship activities in the field. Imbibe management, leadership, planning, organisational and administrative skills in the Supervisors and the Technical Officers to ensure that they adhere to laid down field procedures and policies to have a positive reflection on their performance.
• Reports to: Executive Secretary of the CAA
• Responsible for:Assistant Extension Manager, Field Supervisors, and Technical Officers
• Work closely with the Executive Secretary, Operations Manager a Certification Manager, Chief Accountant, HR/Administrative Manager
Responsibilities
• Provide coordination and supervision to Assistant Extensions Manager, Supervisors and Technical Officers with regards to all their key responsibilities.
• Design and facilitate dialogue and guide organisational development of the extension & field operational system in consultation with the Executive Secretary.
• Coordinate the planning and the implementation of agricultural extension, field operational activities and technology transfer.
• Monitor & evaluate the performance of the Assistant Extensions Manager, Supervisors, and Technical Officers in the field on the basis of their key responsibilities and in line with the PMS; ensure that strategies are put in place to improve their performance.
• To put in place appropriate itineraries and systems for the supervisors and Technical officers and ensure that it works up to the intended purpose and result.
• Imbibe management, leadership, planning, organisational and administrative skills in the Supervisors and Technical officers in the field.
• Motivate, supervise, plan, and organise all the field officers to execute their duties accurately.
• Develop appropriate strategies in consultation with the Executive Secretary to reduce farmer group drop –outs and ensure higher farmer group retention rate and continuous growth year to year.
• Strengthen the collaboration between CAA and KCL in the implementation of the cocoa beans for recovery and CAPS contributions as well as purchases.
• Responsible for field monitoring and charged with paying personal and frequent visits to all project areas to ascertain the progress of assigned duties; and all day – to – day operations of the CAA in the field.
• Ensures close working relationships with the Operations Manager, Certification Manager, Monitoring&Evaluation Coordinator and other functional managers of the CAA.
• Provide on the spot coaching and mentoring to the Supervisors and Technical Officers and ensure that they adhere to CAA laid down field procedures, systems and policies.
• Prepares and provides weekly, monthly, quarterly and end-of- year reports to the Executive Secretary on all field operations & extension activities.
• Develops wide networks with project stakeholders, third party entities with regards to CAA operations within the cocoa producing regions.
• Undertake regular project appraisal on field activities in consultation with other Heads of department.
• Relationship management among all the field staff; and between KCL & CAA
• Ensure that CAA strategic objectives and targets are fully accomplished by providing leadership and planning & mentor all your subordinates to ensure high level of motivation, commitment, capacity and teamwork.
• Assist Supervisors and Technical officers to be able to report accurately as well as do all the necessary documentation required of them and provide feedback accordingly.
• Performs any other duties assigned by the Executive Secretary.

• Ability to work to meet deadlines and long hours without compromising on values and standards of the CAA
• Should exhibit good leadership skills to lead the strategic extensions initiatives of the CAA.
• Excellent writing, reporting, oral communication, leadership and presentation skills
• Should be extensively knowledgeable in modern Extensions &Agricultural practices, field work ethics, rural & community development.
• Set clear targets, goals, working action plan and management towards them
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and relate well with all levels of staff across multi- cultural settings.
• Ability to manage different work teams on diverse projects
• Ability to imbibe management,leadership,planning,organisational and administrative skills in the Supervisors and Technical Officers
• Should have excellent communications skills as well as the flair, ability, presence and personality to constructively engage the Supervisors and the Technical Officers to achieve CAA extension set targets.
• Must have a valid driving licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including word, excel and outlook
Qualification Required & Experience
• University Degree in Physical Planning & Management, Project & Strategic Management, Business Management& Administration, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Organisational & Managing People with
• At least six years (6)years post qualification experience, preferably in a similar environment.
