The Government of Ghana was declared eligible for a poverty reduction grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation ("MCC"), a United States Government Agency. In connection therewith, the Government submitted Concept Papers to MCC, and after a successful outcome of due diligence, and the availability of funds, has resulted in a Compact between the Government and MCC pursuant to which MCC would provide a five-year, multimiHion dollar poverty reduction grant to the Government of Ghana (a "Compact"). The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) will be responsible for the management of the implementation of the Compact. Subject to the terms and conditions of the Compact, related agreements, and the availability of funds, the Government intends to use a portion of the funds provided through the Compact to procure professional personnel in MiDA to assist the Government with the management and implementation of the Compact programme in a transparent, timely, effective, efficient, results-oriented and fiscally sound manner.
Job Description
The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) is therefore seeking to engage qualified persons for the following staff position in the MiDA, on a fixed term contract of five years, renewable yearly. Unless otherwise stated, all posts are based in Accra.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support for a range of IT technologies to include desktop operating systems, desktop applications, and system communication and security technologies, backup and recovery systems and business applications across the MiDA network.
• Provide ad hoc support for Desktop Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7 and 8) and for Microsoft Office Suite and Desktop applications, PC and laptop installation and troubleshooting, PC Application installation and troubleshooting, PC and laptop printing and communication, system security (patching, and anti-virus updating)
• Assist with network connectivity issues, data centre support, backup and recovery systems and with printing, printer drivers, and system configuration.
• Image PCs, configure, and install new systems and follow system configuration standards and installation guidelines for the secure installation of software and systems on the MiDA network.
• Perform System Administration tasks to add systems to Windows Domains, add users, unlock accounts, etc.
• Apply security and functional patches and upgrades to software and hardware.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but lower qualification with required experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Experience providing installation and helpdesk support for Windows PC and laptop systems and with data centre / server room management.
• strong customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and work independently and documentation skills.
• PC Operating System support (Windows 7 and Windows 8), LAN experience (TCP/IP troubleshooting), System application installation and troubleshooting (Microsoft Office) and Printer troubleshooting, printer driver installation experience preferred
• System Administration (User Adds/Mods/Deletes, Adding systems to the domain, unlocking accounts, etc.) experience a plus.
• Backup system management (Acronis), System imaging (Acronis), Enterprise Anti-Virus (Kaspersky), Wireless Network Management (Ruckus), and DNS, Wide Area and Intemet/ISP Service Management (Cisco) experience a plus.
