Job Vacancy For Director, Nursing At Cape Coast Teaching Hospital
The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for tertiary health care delivery, medical education and research.
Job Purpose:
To provide leadership and have overall responsibility for the maintenance of nursing and midwifery standards through teaching, monitoring, research, policy development and implementation within the hospital.
Functions
• Provides technical advice on nursing and midwifery matters to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Submit periodic and timely reports on nursing and midwifery activities within the hospital to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.
• Develops, maintains, and implements nursing and midwifery policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, hospital philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with rules and regulations
• Undertakes any other responsibility assigned by the CEO
Duration of Contract
All the positions are for 4 years contract period subject to renewal upon satisfactory work and conduct.

Qualification Required & Experience
The Person must be a Registered Professional Nurse with registration number with the following:
• A relevant University Degree in Nursing with ten (20) years' working experience, FIVE (5) of which shall be at the senior management level. Master's in health related discipline will be an added advantage.
• The Person should be at the grade of Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the time of application
• Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in management.
• Broad knowledge and understanding of MoH policies and operating procedures on nursing and midwifery
