A fast growing group of companies operating a diverse stream of business spanning environmental management and safety, energy, mining, construction, financial services, logistics and supply chain etc with clear footprints in Ghana and the Africa region, is looking for qualified professionals with strong entrepreneurial orientation to join its team in Ghana in the following senior level position:- General Manager - Quarry Operations

Job Summary

You will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for:

•   Providing leadership and direction in the operations of the Stone Quarry crusher sites in line with the Quarry's strategy and that of the Group's overall strategy
•   Leading, Planning and coordinating operations at the Stone Crusher sites to offer good returns/value to the shareholder in line with the group's policy. Responsibility for leading a team of professionals to ensure efficient/effective production at all times
•   Demanding effective maintenance of equipment/machines to assure optimum machine uptime to avoid interruptions in production
•   Recognising or formulating latest policies for accomplishing long term revenue growth and keep rapport among stakeholders to accomplish business development
•   Reviewing financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity  and goal achievement to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
•   Has accountability for ensuring that all systems, policies and procedures and SOP's are available for use by the organisation and effectively implemented
•   Establish and drive production targets to ensure maximum production levels throughout the year.
•   Take responsibility to manage the health and safety in the plant towards a zero-injury environment/production

Qualification Required & Experience

As a minimum, the ideal candidate must have:

•   First Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, MBA marketing or Business Administration, Industrial Management or relevant professional qualification
•   Ten (10) years relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar management position
•   Significant knowledge and understanding of stone crushing operations or mining
•   Strong leadership and negotiation skills
•   Inspirational and result driven leader with demonstrate communication, marketing and conflict management skills and ability to set and achieve challenging objectives through people
•   Has experience in leading and managing a production outfit with good planning and organisation skills to achieve targets
•   Be self-motivated and able to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside the company.
