Job Vacancy For Managing Director / Finance Manager At SFMC Limited (Tamale)
Savanna Farmers Marketing Company (SFMC) Limited is a marketing company incorporated in 2005. The company aims at providing market channels for smallholder farmers in northern Ghana to sell their crops. SFMC tradesin maize, soybean and sorghum.
SFMC is seeking a Managing Director who would also double as Finance Manager. The incumbent will provide strategic direction and be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the company. He or She must also have experience in strategic plan development and working with strategic plan
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Board. The job functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Supervise the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the company
• Supervise on a regular basis, the activities of the various units of the company
• Put in place strategies to ensure effective coordination of work among management and staff all levels of the company
• Ensure provision of quarterly reports on financial position and general operations of the company to the Board of Directors
• Liaise with public and private sector organisations with relate with the company
• Review monthly budgets and quarterly financial performance reports
• Serve as the lead person in sourcing for funds for the company's activities and managing and developing the finance function in the company
• Compile annual budget,implement budgetary control procedures for the company, drive efficiency, process improvements and maximize accounting solution to support and develop finance processes
• Ensure the generation of monthly financial and other management reports and manage statutory requirements
• Analyse and evaluate information from the financial reports and provide board and management with proposals on best practice in financial operations
• Ensure the data integrity of all the company's financial records
• Organise monthly performance review sessions to assess profitability of business
Qualification Required & Experience
Interested applicants must have the following qualification, skills and experience
• A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience with 5 years at a senior management level within operational of finance function
• A minimum of 6 years relevant work experience in Agricultural value chain, preferably maize, soybean and sorghum value chains
• An MBA in Finace or Accounting, Possession of professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage
• Sound knowledge of financial reporting, financial analysis and control techniques
• Experience with the development and implementation of strategic and business plans
• Good knowledge and skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent leadership, communication and team building skills
• Fluency in written and spoken english
The offer will be on 2 years renewable contract basis, subject to good performance and availability of funds. Remuneration will be based on qualification and experience, commensurate with industry standards.
