Founded in 1948, University of Ghana is the oldest and largest University in Ghana and is certainly one of the most distinguished universities in Africa. University of Ghana has a student population of almost 40,000 and employees numbering approximately 6,000, made up of academic and senior administrative employees, as well as other support staff.

Job Summary

•   The School of Continuing and Distance Education (SCDE) of the College of Education, University of Ghana, has Regional Learning Centres located in the 10 regions of Ghana. The Learning Centres offer lectures and tutorials to Distance Education students, as well as continuing professional development programmes, non-formal programmes and community engagement.
•   Senior Lecturers and Lecturers are required to take up appointments as Coordinators in the Regional Learning Centres.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must have:

•   A PhD in any of the following areas:
Adult Education and Human Resource Studies
Distance Education
Curriculum Development
Community Development
Educational Management and Administration
Educational Technology
Information Studies
•   Strong analytical, computer and communicative skills.
•   A record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
•   A desire to teach in the distance education mode, as successful applicants will be required to develop web-based and web-enhanced courses of instruction.
•   Demonstrable leadership abilities.
