Job Vacancy For Senior Contract Engineer At Oil & Gas Company



A leading Oil & Gas Company is looking for qualified candidates for the above position based in Accra.

Main Responsibilities:

•  To follow the contract awarding processes, by receiving from the User Department the Request of Services and all the relevant documentation (technical and HSE specifications), arranging the invitation to tender, receiving technical evaluation, making the contractual and economical evaluation
•  Elaborating and proposing contracting solutions and pursuing alternative methods of improving contracting practices i.e. risk/reward, incentives, alliances etc,
•  Preparing un-priced and priced evaluation models of high complexity and major contracts
•  Writing contracts requirements in conformity with all applicable laws and in compliance with company's procurement policies & procedures
•  Finalise all contractual terms and conditions to award Contracts for Goods and services of high value and complexity
•  Ensuring that confidentiality is maintained during the procurement process
•  To process requisitions for materials and services to meet cost, quantity and quality requirements all in accordance with company's Procurement Policies & Procedures
•  To ensure that the contracts activities and performed in accordance with the procedures, local content requirements and co-ordinate with Legal Advisors contractual legal aspects
•  To prepare the Contract Amendments
•  To arrange the corresponding contract information for audits
•  Contributing to the vendor qualification system through research and evaluation of commodity areas and making recommendations on sound commercial, financial, technical and quality-assurance principles as well as providing a necessary feed-back on responsiveness and performance of the tenderer's/contractors
•  Contributing to Contract award recommendation drafting and developing commercial evaluation reports

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must have a Bachelor's degree with minimum of:
a)  4/7 years contracts experience in the up-stream process and oil & gas projects of which at least 3 years working as a supervisor with a major oil company
b)  Or 4/7 years contracts experience in the up-stream process and oil & gas projects, of which at least 2 years on major and/or high complexity contracts
•  Supervision skills
•  Knowledgeable and familiar with international contractual format
•  Knowledge of Commodity markets and price trends, various grades, qualities, and varieties of materials, supplies, and equipment
•  High negotiation skills and the ability to understand what is negotiable in line with Company targets
•  Ability to be a team player, frequent interaction with other disciplines and third parties
•  High ability to work effectively with people from multiple cultures and backgrounds
•  High level of professional and personal integrity
•  Very good ability to work independently when required
•  Work under pressure to meet deadlines and time constraints
•  Good degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office programmes
•  Good fluency in written and spoken English, particularly for contract terminology
