World Vision International is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. For two decades, World Vision has been working with urban and rural communities in all the 10 regions of Ghana to improve provision of water, promote sanitation and hygiene practices and quality education, particularly at the basic level, enhance food security and respond to disasters.

Description Of Job

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of Director of Operations.

Reports to: National Director

Job Summary:
To provide overall strategic leadership in the management, integration and coordination of all operations and to ensure that programs and projects are implemented in line with the National Office and Sector Strategies and are aligned with standards and overall mission and vision of World Vision.

Major Responsibilities:

•  Ensures programs are implemented as per approved policies, systems, procedures and internal controls
•  Ensures quality and timely preparation and submission of divisional strategic plan, annual operations plan and budgets
•  Ensure that Global and National Office financial policies and guidelines are adhered to by all staff
•  Ensure availability of Project/program Information for Project Management Information System (PMIS)
•  Ensure Stewardship and accountability for World Vision's resources - equipment, materials, finance and human are used for the intended purposes
•  Strengthen relationship among WV Support Offices, government, communities, church leaders, NGOs as well as other development partners
•  Facilitate creation of efficient and pro active Customer Relation Services for quality sponsorship operations

Qualification Required & Experience

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

•  Educational level required: Masters Degree in any development field: social sciences, development studies, management, education, agriculture or public health
•  Experience: Thorough understanding of project/project management cycle
•  At least 7 years of relevant experience in World Vision or similar organization
•  Other: 10 years experience in leadership position is preferred
•  Knowledge and familiarity with rules and regulations of major donors: USAID, CIDA, DFID, DANIDA, etc
•  Demonstrated excellent stewardship of resources and able to hold others accountable
•  Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
